Through this programme, PELUM Uganda seeks to ensure that all structures and systems of the organisation are effectively functional to enable successful implementation of all programmes.
Specific Objectives/Activities
- To strengthen the institutional capacity of PELUM Uganda to effectively and efficiently manage and implement her programmes.
- PELUM Uganda has a functional board of 7 members who meet quarterly and a team of 10 staff including a Country Coordinator, 2 Programme Officers, 3 Programme Assistants, 2 volunteers and 2 support staff. The staff are at the Country Desk offices coordinating day to day activities. In place are Country desk human resources and finance policies together with periodical annual audits.
- PELUM Uganda has a participatory monitoring and evaluation (PM&E) system designed to track progress and impact of implemented projects. The system is regularly reviewed by the PM&E working group comprising of 7 monitoring & evaluation focal points from member organisations.
- In place is a 3-year strategic plan (2009-2011) developed by members organisations in 2008 and reviewed annually
- PELUM Uganda is currently in the process of developing a fundraising and resource mobilization strategy, an advocacy strategy as well as a Communication strategy.
- To support Eastern and Southern Africa Farmers’ Forum (ESAFF Uganda) towards becoming an autonomous network/organization managing its own affairs
- PELUM Uganda has supported ESAFF Uganda to become an autonomous organisation. The technical support provided has helped the organisation to develop into a vibrant advocacy movement for small-scale farmers.
