Member Capacity Building

PELUM Uganda has over the years built the capacity of its member organisations in a number of areas. The capacity building agenda is set by member organisations at the strategic planning stage and through capacity needs assessments.  Broad areas for capacity building usually include; organisational/institutional development; ecological land use; access to markets and cross cutting issues including gender, HIV and climate change

Specific Objectives

  • To enhance the capacity and organizational development efforts of Member Organizations
  • To strengthen the capacity of MOs to support farmers’ organizational capacity and technical development for sustainable land use
  • To enhance the capacity of MOs to undertake evidence-based advocacy

Training and sensitization workshops are carried out in gender, HIV, advocacy, participatory monitoring and evaluation, fundraising and ecological land use among others. The trainings are internal as well as external with the latter (sub-regional and regional) creating an opportunity for experience sharing
